Dr Grahame Deane
Grahame moved to Port Macquarie in 2014 after 32 years as a rural GP in Gunnedah where he also provided obstetric, anaesthetic, surgical and emergency care at the local hospital, as well as training the future workforce. In 2011 he was recognised as Australia’s Rural GP of the Year, and in 2012 was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia. He continues his interest in antenatal care, paediatrics and all areas of family medicine, with specific skills in skin cancer management. He is the founding Director of Lake Cathie Medical Centre, opening its doors in December 2008. He can speak Hindi, Urdu and Telugu, and in his spare time he is an avid table tennis player.
